The Beatles—Love As an old Beatle fan, I have to say I had no desire to hear this. I wanted the Beatles as they were and I wasn’t interested in a remake of old studio tracks. At the Denver show, I broke down and bought the album (yes album) for demo in our room. I felt that since the album was new, I could generate some traffic in our room. After hearing the first 2 tracks, Because & Get Back, I was in tears. And so was everybody in the room. This is a masterpiece of the genius of Sir George Martin. I highly recommend this album to everybody! - Rusty Taub |

Tom [thepogue@yahoo.com] The rotation at my house (AKA "Pogue's Place") can be a very strange ride indeed. One day Bob James the next Sabbath maybe Steely Dan or some Four Play....yes Stevie Wonder and Stevie Ray Vaughan feel at home here but Si Zentner (Desafinado) is one of my all time obscure favorites. I picked up the my first Zentner for the Hugh some of .50 at the thrift store....best .50 I've ever spent!!! I'll be bringing it next meeting to share and I'm sure you'll agree after hearing..... that the "Big Band Bossa Nova Beat" can still be hip even 40 years later...too much fun! For more info on Si Zentner -www.spaceagepop.com/zentner.htm |

Bret Theakson—Bay Marketing Bruce Springsteen—We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions I've been listening to The Seeger Sessions by Bruce Springsteen and The Seeger Sessions Band. Awesome music, spirited performances and not a bad recording, to boot. Not your typical Bruce and The E Street Band album at all. This is a tribute to the folk traditions of Pete Seeger and chock full of an eclectic mix of traditional folk, civil rights anthems, railroad working songs, negro spirituals and more. All served up by an 18 piece band featuring 2 fiddles, banjo, steel guitar, accordion, and most of The Asbury Jukes horn section including Richie "La Bamba" Rosenberg on tromobone, two trumpets, sax and tuba. Great musicianship and an irresistible foot stompin' cajun flavor to much of it also. Highly recommended! Even if you're not a Bruce fan. It's a Dual Disc release with some great video of Bruce and the band getting it on in the dining room of his NY farmhouse. |

Rusty Taub Arnold Overtures—Malcolm Arnold I was introduced to this recording my RAS member Alan Bomwell. This Reference Recoding is an extremely well recorded orchestra. The imaging and sound stage is truly amazing. I personally like track 3—The Smoke |
